  • Grief, Loss and Trauma is a tailored course focusing on understanding the emotional impact of grief, the many forms of loss, and how we may respond to them. We’ll explore key theories of grief, different types of loss, and gain insight into trauma - its effects on mental health and how to recognise signs of distress. The session also covers practical ways to offer support to ourselves and others through these difficult experiences.

  • This engaging workshop offers an insightful exploration into what neurodiversity truly means. Together, we’ll look at a range of neurodivergent conditions, gain a deeper understanding of individual experiences, and learn how to offer meaningful support. The session focuses on recognising and valuing differences, challenging stigma, and creating environments where everyone feels they belong. Whether you’re neurodivergent, an ally, or simply eager to learn more, this workshop celebrates the strengths in diversity and promotes inclusion for all.

  • This 2-hour session takes a frank and honest look at the often-taboo subject of menopause. We’ll explore the stigma that surrounds it, the wide range of symptoms, and the significant impact menopause can have on mental health. Through open discussion and shared experiences, this session aims to increase understanding, reduce shame, and bring people together in support. Whether you're experiencing menopause yourself or supporting others, join us to help break the silence and challenge the stigma.

  • A reflective and interactive workshop grounded in over a decade of frontline experience. Drawing on 11 years of managing a young persons programme, this session explores the complex challenges many young people face today — and how we, as professionals, peers, or supporters, can respond with empathy, insight, and practical tools. This workshop offers not only knowledge but space for reflection, skill-building, and shared learning. Whether you're working with young people or simply want to better understand their world, this session will equip you to support them with compassion and confidence.

Through open discussion and thoughtful activities, we’ll explore: ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences), self-harm and emotional regulation, attachment styles and co-dependency, substance misuse, eating disorders and more.

  • This comprehensive two-day course is designed to equip Peer Supporters with the essential skills, knowledge, and confidence to offer safe and effective peer support to colleagues and others. This course blends lived experience, practical tools, and a supportive learning environment to help participants develop their skills while fostering a strong culture of connection and care.

Staying Well While Supporting Others - Explore strategies for self-care, boundaries, and sustainable support, so Peer Supporters can remain resilient and well in their roles.

  • A one day course delving into a journey of self-reflection and growth—one that will help individuals to focus on themselves and their needs.

We all face challenges, doubts, and setbacks, but how we respond to them defines our path forward. Confidence allows us to take bold steps, resilience helps us bounce back from adversity, and self-awareness empowers us to understand our strengths and areas for growth. Throughout this session, we’ll explore practical strategies, engage in interactive exercises, and reflect on personal experiences that will help you cultivate these qualities.

  • This 4hr session gives those who are already an MHFAider® the chance to renew their skills, update their knowledge of mental health support, practice applying the MHFA action plan and the course now gives access to three more years of continued support and benefits.

Together, we will: Explore the key components of WRAP, begin building a personal wellbeing toolkit and learn how to embed these strategies into daily life

  • Building and maintaining resilience is essential for supporting our mental wellbeing. In this session, we’ll explore the significant impacts that stress and burnout can have on us, what resilience and self-awareness truly mean, reflect on our own strengths and challenges, and learn practical strategies to strengthen these core skills. By embedding these practices into our daily lives, we can better protect ourselves from prolonged stress and reduce the risk of burnout. Join us to boost your mental fitness and foster lasting wellbeing.

  • Creating safe, informed spaces for meaningful conversations about self-harm. This vital and reflective session offers the opportunity to explore the realities of self-harm with honesty, empathy, and care. Together, we will: Deepen our understanding of what self-harm is (and what it isn’t), identify the wide range of self-harm behaviours and underlying reasons, explore practical and compassionate approaches to supporting those who self-harm, reflect on the emotional impact this can have on those who care, and how to manage it well.

Self-harm can be difficult to talk about — but it’s through these conversations that change happens. This session invites participants to grow in confidence, reduce stigma, and develop the tools to respond with sensitivity and strength.

  • The Worker Protection Act 2023, effective October 2024, requires employers to take 'reasonable steps' to prevent sexual harassment, promoting a proactive approach to workplace safety.

This session covers how the Act differs from the Equality Act, forms of sexual harassment, its impacts, reporting procedures, and support strategies.

By understanding these changes, we can create safer, more inclusive, and respectful workplaces.

  • This advanced-level training is designed to deepen participants’ understanding of suicide prevention and intervention strategies. Building on foundational knowledge, this course equips professionals with the practical tools, communication techniques, and confidence needed to recognise signs of suicide risk, intervene effectively, and support individuals in crisis.

Participants will engage with real-life scenarios, guided skills practice, and evidence-informed frameworks to enhance their situational awareness and decision-making under pressure.

The course also equips individuals to reflect on their own wellbeing and explore effective strategies to minimise the risk of burnout and compassion fatigue in the demanding roles they hold.

My journey through the mental health space

I have seen a lot of change throughout the last 18 plus years that I have been working within this sector and finally I feel that mental health has the platform if deserves. However, there is more work to be done. I am grateful every day that I get to start and continue the mental health conversation.

“The whole team has been talking about the 3 days you spent with us across BVI.  Every member of the team who attended got something different from the training, but you touched every single one of us, so thank you very much!

The statistics regarding mental health and the workplace are alarming

By improving our understanding of the issues impacting team members and encouraging conversations, we can start helping the people who really need it. The leaders in our organisations have a responsibility for the wellbeing of the people they manage, but very few are trained to deal with the mental health of their staff.
